It is also available as an ocular solution.10,11 Although there is no discernible difference in pharmacologic efficacy between the enantiomers, it is a racemic combination and received FDA approval for the first time in 1996.10,11 A nasal spray containing azelastine and fluticasone propionate is marketed under the brand name DymistaTM and is intended to treat the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis in patients 6 years of age and older.
