Product Introduction:
Heptafluorobutyric acid, also known as perfluorobutyric acid, is a colorless liquid at room temperature, smells like butyric acid, has strong acidity and is corrosive.
Heptafluorobutyric Acid is sensitive to light, easily hygroscopic, strongly acidic, miscible with water, acetone, ether and petroleum ether, soluble in benzene and carbon tetrachloride, insoluble in carbon disulfide, mineral oil and heptane.
Heptafluorobutyric Acid has stable properties and can undergo salt formation reaction, esterification reaction, substitution reaction, dehydration reaction and reduction reaction of alcohol hydroxyl group.
The industrial preparation of perfluorobutyric acid adopts the electrochemical fluorination method, with butyryl chloride as the starting material, electrolytic fluorination reaction with anhydrous hydrogen fluoride, and the anode product is neutralized and acidified to obtain the product (reference data).
