Application
1.Used as an adjuvant in the synthesis of prostaglandins, certain antibiotics, and the cholesterol-lowering drugs lovastatin and simvastatin
2.As an intermediate in medicine and in organic synthesis, as a hydroxyl protectant in organic synthesis
3.As a steric silicone protectant, it is widely used in the synthesis of active drugs. Used in the synthesis of ribonucleoside for the protection of hydroxyl groups, but also oxidant, decyanide agent.
